Danner Invitational - Honoring Eric Danner

Our Mission

The Danner Invitational brings together family, friends, and our community to celebrate the life of Eric Danner and the impact he had on so many.

In our early tournaments, funds were raised as personal gifts in support of Eric's niece, Gracie, contributing more than $10,000 toward her college fund.

With the formation of The Danner Invitational Foundation, we are now proud to officially direct our charitable fundraising efforts to Mary's Place, a Windsor-based nonprofit that provides grief support to children and families—a mission that reflects the spirit of care and connection Eric embodied.

We will continue to provide opportunities for those who wish to make personal gifts in support of Gracie's education, alongside our formal charitable giving to Mary's Place.

About Eric

Growing up in Windsor, CT and going on to Keene State for college, Eric touched and impressed many people, including family, childhood friends, college friends, and everyone who got to know him. While he passed away from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia too young at the age of 25 in 2016, his sense of humor, thoughtfulness, appreciation for life, and generosity of spirit lives on in all of us. He was especially close with his niece, Gracie, who was only a toddler and the "apple of his eye".

Supporting Mary's Place

Mary's Place is a local nonprofit in Windsor, Connecticut—where many of us grew up, and just down the street from where Eric lived. Their mission is to support grieving children and families through group programs for those who have lost a loved one.

Mary's Place was listed in Eric's obituary and was used by the Danner family, which makes this partnership especially meaningful and fitting.
